What counts as a game?

Accepted Answer

Anything interactive with a goal, a loop or a punchline. Jam prototypes, one-mechanic toys, text adventures, level editors and generative sandboxes all belong here. What doesn't: landing pages for a game that isn't playable yet, app-store listings with no demo, and links that need a build to be downloaded and compiled first. The test is simple: a stranger clicks the link and is playing within a few seconds.

Does it have to be finished?

Accepted Answer

No. Most of the best-received launches here are unfinished, and people say so in the description. A rough prototype with one good idea gets a warmer reception than a polished clone. The only hard requirement is that the link works and the thing does what your tagline says it does. Say what's missing and you'll get useful feedback instead of bug reports.

Can I submit someone else's game?

Accepted Answer

No. Submissions are for makers posting their own work, because the comments thread only means anything if the person who built it is there to answer. If you found something great, share the link in a collection or a comment instead. Submitting work that isn't yours gets it removed, and repeat attempts get the account removed.

When does my game go live?

Accepted Answer

Immediately. There's no review queue and no scheduling. You hit launch, the listing exists, and it enters that day's race. Launch days run on UTC, so a game posted at 23:50 UTC competes for ten minutes and then rolls into the archive. Post early in the UTC day if you want a full run at the front page.

Can I edit it after launching?

Accepted Answer

Yes: title, tagline, description, screenshots, links, tags, all of it, any time. The one thing that never changes is the URL. Shares, backlinks and search results all point at that slug, and a moving address quietly throws away every bit of traffic your launch earned.
