big rock breaks into smaller rocks, smaller rocks kill you. That shape has lasted forty years and not by accident. Drones that move on their own logic are the right instinct, because now you've something to prioritise instead of sweeping the screen clean. Plain 2D, easy to read, and that's the only thing that really matters here.
An Asteroids clone with extra enemy types, and not much past that. Nothing about it is bad. The escalation is sensible and the enemy variety is a real addition (I won't pretend otherwise). There's just no hook to pull me back for a second run, not when the thing it's copying is one search away. Competent. Not distinct.
The pitch puts all its energy into describing waves of enemies, and waves of enemies is duly what turns up. Competent, all of it. None of it gives me a reason to choose this over the thousand shooters cut to the same outline.
