Big Wave Surfing

No trick list. No combo meter. There's the wave, the line you pick across it, and stars scattered about to give you a reason to hold that line. The restraint is the point and it's why this lands so soft. Lovely to open when you don't want a game to want anything from you.

Paddle out, stand up, try not to eat it. Took me a few goes before I stopped falling off and then it clicked! Short, pretty, no faff. Good for a break.

Deliberately shallow, and honest about being shallow, which I respect a good deal more than a surf game cosplaying as a sports sim. Collecting stars is a thin reason to steer anywhere, so the whole thing rests on how it feels to ride the face. If that feels good, you have a complete idea at a small size. If it doesn't, nothing else is propping it up... I think it does enough.

The wave physics are the thing. Paddling in, feeling the drop take you, then carving along the face. Star collecting is a bit to much video game imposed on something that would be fine without it. The riding itself feels right though, and that's the hard part to get.
