Port Royal 1691

A city you can bring down and ten weapons to do it with. That's the stated goal, and it tells you what to judge: whether swapping guns changes how you move, and whether the destruction lands with weight or just deletes geometry. The 1691 setting is a welcome break from grey corridors. Runs short, plays loud.

Anyone can demo a destruction sandbox. Turning one into a game is the hard half, and the hard half isn't here. Ten weapons is a count, not a design, and past making chaos happen there's no goal on offer at all. The Caribbean in 1691 is a badly underused setting and that's precisely why I wanted more from it than I got. Not there yet.

Pirate city, everything breakable. I dont need much more of a pitch than that, honestly. One minute in you'll know whether you want another go. I did.

Turn up, knock things over, watch the numbers climb. What suprised me is the 1691 town, laid out like somewhere people lived rather than like a level.
