A vertical space shooter rendered entirely in ASCII text on HTML5 Canvas, inspired by Scramble (1981)

Why I made it

As a kid, I used to spend hours playing my uncle's TomyTronic Scramble — a handheld console game from 1981 that was ahead of its time. Just a tiny VFD screen and a game that kept pulling you back for one more run. I wanted to build something inspired by that experience. Not a remake, but a game built around the same idea — that you don't need fancy assets or a game engine to make something enjoyable. You need the right mechanics.
