How many people are in the room? Phones as controllers is a solved format, competently done here, but it needs a group, a shared screen and everyone digging their handset out (for rounds lasting about a minute). Most people arriving here are alone at a laptop. Lovely at a gathering. Nothing at all on a Tuesday night.

Using your phone as the controller is a kind decision when you think about what it saves everybody. Nobody has to own a thing. It's already in their pocket. Rounds are short, the mood stays light, and there's no skill wall shutting out whoever in the room knows least about games. Good for an evening where the game is really just a reason to sit together.

Readability is the whole test for a mini-game collection. Everyone has to understand a round from across the room in about three seconds, and the one minute format is the right instinct for that. Simple isn't a shortcut here. It's the genre doing what the genre is for. Score, laugh, on to the next.
