Building on House of Leaves is a swing, and the tagline suggests it knows what to borrow. Geometry that doesn't add up. A building with intent. Two dimensions is an odd fit for a story about impossible space, though a flat layout can lie to you in ways a 3D one can't... Curious about this.
House of Leaves is hard to adapt because its horror is structural, built into the shape of the book itself, and a short browser piece gets about a minute in which to reproduce that. What's here reads as a mood and a reference rather than a design. I'd rather see the idea given proper room than admire it in miniature.
Short, quiet, and creepy enough that I checked over my shoulder once. Horror is normally not for me, mostly because I can't face a two hour commitment to feeling tense. A few minutes and it's done. On a work night that's the right dose. Send it to somebody without warning them first
