VibeOS -Hacking Sim

Why has the hacking fantasy lasted this long? Because underneath it's a fantasy about competence. Fake terminals, systems folding open, the feeling of standing somewhere you shouldn't be. This leans hard on that and doesn't dress it up as anything else. With a fiction that well worn, committing is most of the job, and commit it does.

Four words in the pitch: high stakes hacking simulator. Nothing behind them tells me what my hands will be doing. Fake OS games stand on their writing and their puzzle design, and from outside the door I can't find evidence of either. The presentation looks cared for, I'll give it that. Before I told anyone to spend an evening on it I'd need a great deal more of the middle.

sat down late and typed at a fake computer for abit. Felt clever, which is the whole point of it. Two minutes and I could see the shape of the thing, but I liked those two minutes.

Fake operating systems are their own small genre and I'll take every last one of them. What pulls me in is the fiction wrapped around the terminal, the feeling that a network is out there with something sitting at the far end. High stakes is a bold thing to claim for a couple of minutes at a keyboard. The world it hints at is the good part, and it does commit to that.
